Livin’ the dream.
As most of you are probably aware by now, the overnight sensation that is Oliver Anthony, blew up two months ago when he released his viral hit, “Rich Men North Of Richmond” through RadioWV’s YouTube channel.
The video for the song has racked up a massive 98 million views on YouTube, as well as over 120,000 streams on Spotify alone.
Back in October, Anthony announced he plans to start recording his debut album in January:
“Have been in the woods lately writing some songs and petting some dogs. Will be recording my first official album in January. Going to be recording outdoors, much like the RadioWv session videos you’ve seen popping up on YouTube recently, but with a few other instruments added.”
Shortly after that, he announced his first-ever headlining tour, “Out Of The Woods,” a 42-show run kickin’ off in Sweden on February 1st.
After one helluva start in the music business with practically over-night success, Oliver is going to make his Opry debut on Saturday, December 16th.
While the Opry’s credibility has diminished over the years, its prestigious reputation still makes performing there a bucket-list moment for many new artists, including for Oliver, whom says he’s “thrilled.”
