I’m only slightly butt-hurt I didn’t get an invite to the “Choosin’ Texas” celebration party last night.
Especially since I account for about 75% of the song’s streams nearly a year after its October 2025 release— but I digress. Congrats to Miss Ella Langley, who got to celebrate the monumental milestone yesterday evening in lieu of not just becoming the record holder for the longest-running No.1 on Billboard’s Hot 100, but further extending the record to a whopping 24 weeks.
Rallying together some of her close friends, industry buddies, and of course those who helped make the accomplishment possible, Langley hosted a soiree last night at Nashville’s Skinny Dennis. The dive-bar-esuqe spot not only happens to be somewhat reminiscent of the “Choosin’ Texas” music video location at the historic stagecoach ballroom in Fort Worth, but Langley really brought the project’s aesthetic to life by hiring a local band to serenade the party with some country classics.
Lead singer and aspiring Texas-born artist, Nathan Belt, shared a few snapshots of his once-in-a-lifetime gig on social media, including a selfie with the woman of the hour. He also noted that Langley’s co-writer and upcoming “Snakeskin Boots” duet partner, Miranda Lambert, attended with her husband and had quite the ball dancing to the band’s rendition of George Strait’s “The Chair.”
More importantly, though, Langley apparently couldn’t hang up her performer duties even just for a night, as she joined the band for at least one duet of John Conlee’s 1978 hit, “Rose Colored Glasses,” which happens to be one of her favorite songs. With a drink in her hand, Langley took the mic, singing harmonies alongside Belt.
While the clip offers a pretty cool behind-the-scenes look at the rare karaoke performance, I know it may not completely satisfy everyone hoping to hear Langley belt out the classic in full. Luckily, this isn’t the first time she’s put her own spin on “Rose Colored Glasses,” previously singing the John Conlee hit for the Isbell brothers during her God’s Country podcast appearance back in December 2024.
Check out both renditions below. You can also expect to see the chart-topper back on stage next Wednesday, October 7, in Morrison, CO, with just a handful of shows left on the remainder of her 2026 Dandelion tour.
