There’s no doubt that one of the most underrated artists in all of country music is Drayton Farley. From his ballads such as “Dreamer” and “Pitchin’ Fits” to his incredibly poignant, “American Dream,” Farley has cemented himself as one of the premier songwriters working today.

Debuting in 2020, the Alabama native has quickly become an inspiration for many fellow independent country stars, most notably Wyatt Flores.

Over the weekend, Farley opened up for Flores at Whitewater Amphitheater in New Braunfels, Texas. After performing his set which featured the likes of “Pitchin’ Fits,” “Dreamer” and “Twenty on High,” Farley joined Flores for a performance of The Fray’s 2005 hit, “How To Save A Life,” which has become a staple at the “Please Don’t Go” singer’s live shows.

During the performance, Farley addressed the crowd, thanking them and Flores for the opportunity, “I just want to tell you guys, thank you all so much for letting me be a part of this, and Wyatt, I love you so much, dude.”

In response, Flores took a knee, bowing down to the “Trouble in the Pines” singer and said, “If it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t have gotten into music. You know that right? Thank you, brother.”

Farley then recounted a story of the pair playing to a crowd of only twenty people in Oklahoma City, ending the story by saying, “Look around you. Look at what Wyatt’s done, guys. It’s incredible. It’s been a huge honor to get to be here.”” The two ended the performance with a hug before Flores followed the emotional moment up with his certified gold hit, “Please Don’t Go.”
