The red dirt band is officially back with a brand-new single.
Josh Abbott Band, known for their red dirt style and inclusion in the supergroup, The Panhandlers, take a look back on the past in the brand new single, Country Nights.
Frontman, Josh Abbott, announced the single’s release on an Instagram Reel on Tuesday, noting how the band has been working on a lot of new music. Additionally, he stated how they are excited to release more tracks soon.
Abbott described the song as a throwback in said Instagram reel.
“It’s a throw back to that senior year, summer before when you get a little bit of freedom. I think everybody will be able to relate to it.”
And a throwback it is, taking the listener straight back to high school summer nights. The track is packed with relatable details such as cold beer, bright stars and full moons coupled with some specific details such as fringes in his lover’s blue jeans and the taste of honeysuckle on her kiss.
“Honeysuckle kisses on a midnight wind
Her tan legs peaking through a blue jean fringe”
The mid-tempo track begs the listener to roll the windows down, relax and enjoy their own country night.
