Incredible is an understatement.
Today, Ella Langley dropped an acoustic performance video on her YouTube account for “Could’ve Been Her,” off her debut EP, “Excuse The Mess.”
Ella Langley is one of the hottest up and coming acts in Country music. Not only does Country seem to have a brighter future than years past, the WOMEN in Country are absolutely killing it, lately.
Could’ve Been Her, written by Langley, as well as Joybeth Taylor, Trannie Anderson and Will Bunny, is arguably the best song off the EP. It tells a powerful story of a girl who refused to change who she was, give up her dreams, and be treated poorly by a man.
“If I’da just gave up the standards I have / let you hit your knees and beg me on back / If I’da just sold my soul for a love that cheap, I coulda been her but that wouldn’t be me.”
Ella took to Instagram to announce the new video, with the caption; “We recorded it in the Wightman Chapel in Nashville, I grew up singing in church so it only felt right to pay tribute to that with these videos.”
