I don’t think I’ve ever seen an impact like this in Country music before…
Five days ago, Virginia native, Oliver Anthony, released an acoustic performance video for his song, “Rich Men North Of Richmond,” on @radiowv’s Youtube channel and the video has racked up a massive 7 million views, as of this moment.
To put that into perspective, Justin Moore just had the No. 1 song on Country radio with “You, Me & Whiskey,” and while the official music video has been out for 6 months, it only has 1.9 million views. Now, I’m sure one could argue a case as to why that is but the point here is that an absolute nobody, as of a week ago, has millions more views in five days than a well-known Country artist in 6 months. It’s simply impressive as hell and almost unheard of.
The song, which has also hit No. 1 on iTunes, all-genre, has gained so much traction that even headlines from the biggest media outlets, such as Rolling Stone and Fox News, are talking about the overnight sensation.
While a good amount of those outlets are assuming Anthony is a conservative and his latest effort is a new “anthem for right-wingers,” Anthony says that couldn’t be more far from the truth.
According to Jason Howerton, who recently spoke with the viral singer on the phone and offered to cover the cost of his album, Anthony used to struggle with alcohol but has now been sober for a month after breaking down in tears and pleading with God.
This song is called "Rich Men North of Richmond." It has been viewed MILLIONS of times.

Great song

Not sure how to make this happen but hopefully you do. How about this idea to promote him. Pick an exact day and time and spread it far and wide through whatever social media you have available and have EVERYONE go outside with their home speakers, portable speakers, in their vehicles, on their phones or whatever and everyone start this song at the EXACT same time. Have bars count it down like New Years Eve even, I don’t know. See if we can hear it echoing across the entire country. I think it’d be awesome! Hope you have the contacts to make it happen!
This song is very deep and heartfelt. So many people feel this.
Amen! Amen! Amen!
Keep the faith that’s what we all need. I’m struggling just like you. God is great and I thank him for you
