One record at a time…
Back in July, “Last Night” by Morgan Wallen passed “Flowers” by Miley Cyrus to become the No. 1 best selling song of the year thus far.
Not only did Last Night become the #1 longest running Country song in Hot 100 history back in May, but as of today, it spent it’s 16th nonconsecutive week at the top spot, surpassing Harry Styles’ “As it Was” to become the longest running #1 solo song on the Billboard’s chart history since it began in 1958.

Remove the “solo” aspect and “Last Night” is now the second longest running No. 1 in the chart’s history, only behind a tie of “Despacito” and Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men’s collaboration, “One Sweet Day.”
On top of all of that, the song was Morgan’s fastest rise to No. 1 on Country airplay so far in his career, taking just 7 weeks to get there after being shipped off to radio.
Written by John Byron, Ashley Gorley, Jacob Kasher Hindlin and Ryan Vojtesak, the song is one of Morgan’s most poppiest singles released to date but still catchy as hell, nonetheless.
And if you weren’t aware, the Hot 100 chart combines all-genre U.S. streaming, radio airplay and sales data to bring you it’s list each week.
