As of October 4th, “Ragweed” by Koe Wetzel has officially been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America.
When a record earns a gold certification, it means the song/album has sold at least 500,000 units since its release.
Ragweed, one of Koe’s most iconic songs and a tribute of sorts to the Cody Canada led band, Cross Canadian Ragweed, was written by Koe, along with Ropyr Madison, and is featured on “Harold Saul High,” the album he surprise dropped back in 2019.
Back in 2020, Cody had this to say about the hit song:
“Everybody had finally stopped asking me when the band was getting back together and then he put out that fu*king song, thanks buddy… but no, I like the song, it’s awesome and it’s an honor.“
