Ashley McBryde is all smiles in her recent Instagram post, celebrating a significant milestone in her sobriety journey. On March 8, she shared a series of photos showing herself grinning with joy while holding a sign that reads, “1,000 Days Sober.”

The 41-year-old singer has been extremely open about her life-changing decision to quit drinking, which she made in June 2022 as part of her self-care journey. Initially, McBryde kept her decision private for the first year but has since become very vocal about the positive impact it’s had on her life. Not only has sobriety helped her feel and look her best, but she’s also credited it with benefiting her voice. Along with quitting drinking, McBryde also gave up smoking, which she believes has allowed her vocals to thrive.

She previously marked another sobriety milestone of 900 days on Thanksgiving, November 28, 2024, sharing a short video of herself in boxing attire with a caption that reflects her fighting mentality: “ It was either continue and die or stop and learn to live. The pain I caused and was in myself… it’s the hardest thing I’ve ever chosen to examine and take action on.”

In her most recent post, McBryde shared a heartfelt caption listing the 1,000 daily reasons she’s grateful for her sobriety. “1,000 days, 1,000 moons.1,000 hangovers skipped. 1,000 drunk “I’m sorry’s” I didn’t have to say. 1,000 times in a row I made the choice to not pick it up or not miss it when the smell crossed my nose.”

The final lines of the post highlight the profound impact her decision has had on both her career and mental health: “1,000 times I have shown that the power of the love of a song and the love of the road are stronger than the pull to ever go back to who I was.

“1,000 “I love you’s” I  say to my reflection.  I see the woman I am now and the woman I am on my way to being and I have love and compassion for the woman I was and I care for her daily.”

She ends the post with enduring advice and a message of self-love: “Wherever you are in your journey, day 1, day 0…. Day 400 or day zero again for the 10th time. It is worth it. Every day is a milestone. Every version of you was necessary to be who you are now. So love them.“

In the final photo of the carousel, McBryde is joined by two friends, both holding signs that read, “Our friend is 1,000 Days Sober.” Their support is mirrored in the comments, with fans and fellow celebrities sharing their own stories and admiration for her.

McBryde is currently on tour across the US and Canada through August, promoting her latest release, “Ain’t Enough Cowboy Songs,” which talks about a yearning to return to the classic Western lifestyle. The song reflects themes McBryde feels are missing in today’s world, such as “work ethic, integrity, resilience, and self-reliance.”
