In honor of the breakout year Megan Moroney has had, I decided to do a quick deep dive and came across her cover of Chris Stapleton’s “Either Way” she posted three years ago to her YouTube account. Either Way was written by Chris Stapleton, Tim James and Kendall Marvel, but was first released by Lee Ann Womack on her 2008 album, “Call Me Crazy.” Although the song won an award for Best Country Solo Performance at the 60th Grammy’s, most people are more familiar with Chris Stapleton’s version from his 2017 album, “From A Room: Volume 1.” Not only is…

This song never gets old. For as popular as “How To Save A Life” was, it still often gets left out of the “white people jams” category. (Is that a thing? Oh, it’s a thing). You know, right up there with Sweet Caroline, Mr. Brightside, and I Write Sins Not Tragedies. But trust me, it’s game over when that (or any of those songs) come on at the bar. On a more serous note, the 2006 single, written by Joe King and lead singer, Isaac Slide, was influenced by a 17 year old that Isaac met while serving as a…
Football on Thanksgiving is always great (unless you’re a Commanders fan like myself). Yesterday, the Dallas Cowboys took on their NFC East division rival and while Washington kept the game close for three quarters, Dallas dominated the fourth quarter, finishing with a score of 45-10. While slouching on the couch with your pants unbuttoned from the three plates you just scoffed down, there wasn’t much hope or excitement for Commanders fans other than Dolly Parton’s halftime performance. The queen of Country music, who is now 77 years old, strutted out in a Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders uniform and had the entire…
Morgan Wallen may just be the most popular artist in not just country, but in all of music. Today, Billboard released their year end chart rankings and Morgan finished with the most entries of any artist on the Top 100 with a total of eight. Coming in at #1 with “Last Night,” Morgan also had two other singles break the top 20 with “You Proof” ranking at #12, and “Thinkin’ Bout Me” at #19. This marks the first time a country artist has held the year-end top spot since Kenny Rogers did it back in 1981. View this post on…
That’s how it’s done. Back in 2020, it was hard for some folks to remain positive through the stress and unknown brought to us via the Covid-19 pandemic. From lockdowns, to summer outdoor activities (most notably concerts and festivals) being canceled, alcohol sales increased and social media consumption skyrocketed. For some, the days dragged and there wasn’t much to look forward to. BUT, throughout all the chaos and the “six feet apart” screams at every convenience store in America, there was one saving grace. And that was music. Almost everyday for weeks, artists who weren’t allowed to tour due to…
Zach Bryan has officially taken home Top New Artist at this years Billboard Music Awards. Up against Jelly Roll, Bailey Zimmerman, Ice Spice & Peso Pluma, Zach’s popularity reaches far beyond country music fans and his astonishing streaming numbers speak for themselves. Zach, who is a first-year nominee, was nominated for a whopping 14 total BBM Awards and at this very moment, has won four. On top of winning Best New Artist, Bryan also won Top Rock Artist. His other two wins come from the same category: Last week, Jelly Roll took home the CMA Award for New Artist of…
