The best of the best. Back in August of last year, George Strait, along with Chris Stapleton and Little Big Town, played back to back shows at the Nissan Stadium In Nashville, Tennessee. Although Chris and LBG got to finish their sets, The King’s was cut short the second night due to lightning in the vicinity, leaving fans frustrated that they paid for a full show but received an hour and a half less time from George compared to the night before. While I probably would’ve been just as equally frustrated, I would hope that I would’ve purchased tickets for…

Timeless. On February 2nd, 1974, Dolly Parton topped Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart with arguably her biggest song to date, “Jolene.” It written solely by Dolly, and was released in October of 1973 as the lead single off her album of the same name. Back in 2004, Rolling Stone ranked Jolene at #217 on their 500 Greatest Songs of All Time list, and then bumped it up all the way to #63 when the outlet revisited the ranking just three years ago. According to Dolly from an interview with NPR, the song was inspired by a red-headed bank teller who would…

One of my favorite Childers songs. Last night, Wyatt Flores put on one helluva performance of Tyler Childers’ “Charleston Girl” at Music Farm in, you guessed it…Charleston, South Carolina. The track was written solely by Childers and while the only version on streaming platforms is live from the Red Barn Radio in 2018, fans (including myself) haven’t seemed to mind one bit. Wyatt had a massive 2023, solidifying himself as one of the hottest rising stars in country music. From amassing well over 3 million monthly Spotify listeners, to earning his first-ever gold certified song with “Please Don’t Go,” it’s…

Been waiting for this duet. Back in 1988, Tracy Chapman released her debut single, “Fast Car.” To this day, it’s been a massive and nostalgic hit, bringing in listeners of all genres, including Country superstar Luke Combs. Unless you’ve been living under a rock (and even then you’d probably still know it) Luke Combs released his cover of Fast Car off his fourth studio album, “Gettin’ Old,” last year. It was streamed over 65 million times on Spotify alone in less than two months, solidifying it as the most popular song on the record and forcing Luke Combs to release it as…

Chris Young has been trending in the headlines ever since he was arrested at the Tin Roof bar in Nashville last week. According to court documents, the 38 year-old country singer got into an altercation with TABC agents after a compliance check. He then followed the agents to the DawgHouse Saloon, asking multiple questions while filming them. According to one of the officers, Young “put his hands out to stop me from leaving the bar and struck me on the shoulder.” According to the affidavit, the agent pushed Young “to create distance” and then bystanders got between the two and began…
