After releasing the highly controversial song, Same Here, featuring Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Brad Paisley is back with another single. This time Paisley plays it much safer with his subject matter with a nostalgic and reflective look back on many summers past.
Paisley took to Instagram on Sunday, June 18th, to announce the song’s release with the caption reading “Here’s to Fathers everywhere… and every kid’s first fish. New song out Friday.”
So Many Summers is a reflective, yet nostalgic track, that’s equally about reminiscing on past summertime memories as it is about appreciating life and those said memories. Penned by Paisley, Lee Thomas Miller and Ross Copperman, the chorus urges the listener to live in the moment, likening the summers to life passing by.
“So swing for the fence, jump in the water
Soak it all in, watch all the bobbers
Play the songs on 10, tell her you love her
Then wake up and do it again
You only get so many summers”
