Carrie Underwood surprised fans Thursday, announcing a new single was on the way—and out the next day.
“Had some fun in the studio recently and for my birthday I wanted to share my new song “Out Of That Truck” with all of you!” she wrote in an Instagram post Thursday night. Carrie gave her followers a glimpse of the song along with a brief commentary, where she described the track as “guitar-heavy,” and explained she had wanted it to be “fun” and “have some energy.”
Between scoring nominations for two CMT Awards (Video of the Year with “Hate My Heart” & Female Video of the Year with “Ghost Story”) and closing out the last month of her “Denim & Rhinestones” Tour, Carrie’s been killing the game lately. Somehow, she still found time to get back in the studio and record new music, and then decided to share it on her own birthday. What a way to celebrate 40, Carrie Underwood. You’re a badass.
