If you know, you know.
Today isn’t just any ol’ regular day, it’s a day where country and rock fans, alcoholics and pot-heads, taco-bell lovers, people of Texas and beyond, and well…all of us on social media, come together to celebrate the drunken actions made by Koe Wetzel on this date 8 years ago.
After getting arrested for public intoxication in Stephenville, Texas, where he found himself cozied up in a jail cell for a couple days, the Texas rocker was able to put the finishing touches on what would become one of his most popular songs to date, “February 28th, 2016.”
The track was featured on his 2016 album, “Noise Complaint,” and currently has almost 80 million streams on Spotify alone. It is also currently certified gold by the RIAA, meaning it has sold at least 500 thousand units since its release.
Koe tends to acknowledge his infamous “holiday” in typical fashion this time of year, with his usual level of eloquence and wise counsel:
Happy February 28th, go to church.

So to those who observe; head to your nearest Taco Bell drive-thru, swing by the liquor store, throw the song on repeat, and have yourself one helluva Koe day.
