Make it happen, fellas.
Last year iHeart Country had an album release party to celebrate Luke Combs‘ new album, “Growin’ Old.” During that interview, Luke Combs was asked if we’re any closer to receiving a collaboration from him and Morgan Wallen.
“We text about it. It’s like, you gotta find the perfect song for that, though. Our consensus is that we want to write it or it has to be the perfect song. If you got it, the perfect song, we’re listening.”
Song-writers, get on it. Come up with the best damn song you’ve ever written and send it over to them asap. (If you wanna help break the internet and get rich by pinning a collaboration for the two biggest artists in Country music right now, that is…)
This recent interview with Wayne D is a follow-up to when Luke Combs visited his show back in early March. Since they both had highly-anticipated albums coming out this year, Luke was asked if there was ever talks of the two getting together.
Luke responded with: “I don’t know, I mean we’ve kicked that can down the road a little bit and we’ve just never really landed on a song that I think we both love.” He then goes on to say; “I don’t think it’s out of the question at all. I think it would be awesome.”
The two recently took turns performing one another’s songs on stage when they both tied for Songwriters Of The Year at the 71st annual BMI Country Awards. You can watch Morgan’s performance of “Going, Going, Gone” here.
Should it happen? Yes, When will it happen? Who knows, but neither of these guys live under a rock. They’re well-aware that they are the two biggest artists in the genre right now, Luke even admitted that on the FULL SEND podcast 9 months ago. So what in the hell would they have to lose. Sheeit, while they are at it, why not co-headline a stadium tour together? The fans (and Ticketmaster) would love that.
