FINALLY.

According to Country music chart insider, Chris Owen, Luke Combs has officially sent “Fast Car” to Country radio as next single.

Just a little over a month ago, Luke and his label chose to send “Love You Anyway” to Country radio, and “Fast Car” to Pop radio. However, the song has been absolutely KILLING it so it appears they finally caved and gave the people what they wanted. I mean, that’s what Luke is known for doing anyway…

Not only has the track racked up millions upon millions of streams, it’s also currently charting at No. 12 on Mediabase Country without being a single, something that’s literally unheard of without being pushed to radio by the label.

Luke first teased his version of Fast Car on social media back in 2018 and I remember exactly what I was doing and where I was sitting when I first came across it on Facebook, thinking “holy sh*t, we need a studio version of this ASAP.” (It only took 5 years but hey, thanks for not letting us down, Luke).

I grew up absolutely loving Tracy Chapman’s version from 1988 and Luke purposefully didn’t stray away from the original production, so there’s really no need to get into some unnecessary debate about who’s it better, because Country fans just loooove to do that (insert eye roll emoji here).

This should be a MONSTROUS hit at Country radio. Check it out below. (Oh, and it would be EPIC if the two got together to perform it together live, just sayin… )
