On October 26th, Luke Combs will be performing at the Bank of America Stadium for a sold-out show in his home state of North Carolina to raise money for those affected by the devastation of Hurricane Helene.
Combs will be headlining alongside fellow North Carolina native, Eric Church, as well as Billy Strings, Keith Urban, Sheryl Crow, Bailey Zimmerman and James Taylor, with all proceeds being split 50/50 between charities of Combs and Chief’s choosing.
The two recently sat down for an interview with Rolling Stone to discuss how these tragic events affect them emotionally, as well as what to expect at the upcoming “Concert For Carolina” show.
“I see the pictures and my brain does not comprehend what it is...two months from now, when people move on to what’s next, those people in those communities still need a ton of help — beyond two months, six months, beyond one year. We do a concert, raise money, and that’s great. But that is not anywhere near what is going to be needed long term. Not even close.”

During the interview, Luke was asked if his debut smash hit, “Hurricane,” will be included in the setlist, and to no one’s surprise, the answer was a big fat no:
“It came up a couple days ago and we were talking about. You just can’t do it.”
While “Hurricane,” written by Luke, as well as Taylor Phillips and Thomas Archer, was a massive song that launched the 34 year-old’s career into what it is today, there’s just simply no way you can walk out on that stage and belt the lyrics “you hit me like a hurricane” while thousands are trying to salvage what little they have left after the horrific destruction caused by Helene. To say it would be tone-deaf would be an understatement.
Last Friday, Church also released a brand new song titled, “Darkest Hour,” where he signed over the full rights and royalties to the state of North Carolina, adding “It’s no longer mine, it’s theirs. All the proceeds, all the money, all the future money.”
