Morgan Wallen is puttin’ his money where his mouth is.
Earlier today, Knox News first reported that the Tennessee native had officially donated $500,000 to the American Red Cross for Hurricane Helene relief.
The storm recently hit parts of Tennessee, along with North Carolina, Georgia and Virgina, where at least 128 deaths have been reported at this time and 10 total inches of rainfall causing catastrophic damage for 400 miles.
This past Sunday, Wallen posted a message to his Instagram story revealing he was looking in to ways he could help his home state:
“My family in East Tennessee are safe, but I know many are absolutely devastated there and in multiple states. All my prayers are geared toward those tonight. Those hills and hollers are very important to me in so many ways. It is going to take a monumental effort, and I am in contact with my team and others working on ways I can help.”
In a statement to Knox News, Red Cross National President for Humanitarian Services, Trevor Riggin, had this to say about the 31 year-old country star’s hefty donation:
“We can’t thank Morgan Wallen enough for his heart and generous $500,000 donation to impact help on the ground now in the areas affected by Hurricane Helene, including his beloved East Tennessee.”
Morgan’s foundation receives $3.00 from every concert ticket sold to help underprivileged communities such as the little league baseball team in Jefferson City whom acquired a $100,000 donation from the “Last Night” singer back in June.
