Today, Morgan Wallen posted a video on Instagram announcing he has re-injured his vocal chords and has officially canceled all shows within that time-frame.
Morgan canceled his show in Oxford, Mississippi, last month after losing his voice, and while he took 10 days off, it appears that wasn’t enough, as he damaged his voice again just three shows later in Florida.
“I’ve got some bad news from my doctors at the Vanderbilt Voice Center yesterday. Their advice is that I go on vocal rest for six weeks, so that’s what I’m gonna do. They want me not to talk at all but they said if I need to, it’s okay for something like this.“
Morgan says most shows have already been re-scheduled but there’s still a few pending before the new dates can be released. He also announced he will no longer be performing at the ACM Awards this Thursday, either.
On top of the injuries sustained to his vocal chords, Morgan also announced he recently tore his lat in Australia and will be using this time to fully recover so he can come back 100%.
“They told me that if I do this the right way, I’ll get back to 100%. And they also said that if I don’t listen and keep singing, I’ll permanently damage my voice. So for the longevity of my career, this is just the choice I had to make.“
