Too good to be true.
Just a week after the release of his new, self-titled, 16-track album, it appeared that Zach Bryan had surprise-dropped another new song, titled “Dead or Gone,” but we’ve now learned that it wasn’t released by Zach, himself.
There’s a few things to point out here. For starters, there was no official announcement from Zach Bryan or his team and the song was only released to Apple Music and Amazon with his name under it. On Spotify, it was released under a different name, leading us to believe that Spotify does a better job of not allowing fake releases to be published under the actual artist’s profiles.
While dropping a new song exactly one week after releasing a full album would typically be strange and almost unheard of, Zach did take to twitter two weeks ago to “promise” that he wouldn’t keep us waiting for more new music that didn’t make this album’s cut, due to them not being produced by Bryan, himself.
While some were left scratching their heads at the lack of promotion or availability on certain music platforms, we originally assumed those could co-exist. Regardless, no one would be complaining about receiving new music from Zach at the same time football returned.
Buttttt, Zach took to Twitter earlier to let us know it was someone taking his unreleased songs off of other platforms, such as Soundcloud, and uploading them to make a quick buck.
While the official release was fake, the song is still real. Check it out here:
I did not release a single today lol, terrible people keep taking my old recordings and releasing them for profits on streaming and listens
