Pecos & the boys have FINALLY announced their first ever, album.
After years and years of droppin’ singles, the only real project we had from Pecos & The Rooftops was their 2020 EP, “Red Eye,” (which I still jam to religiously) but today, with the release of their brand new song, “Last Thing I Remember,” the boys also announced that their self-titled, debut album with Warner Records, will officially be out on June 23rd.
The new album will include their biggest hit-to-date, “This Damn Song,” as well as the rockin’, (and my personal favorite) 5AM.
Two months ago, Country Chord had the pleasure of getting to sit down with frontman Pecos Hurley, where he exclusively dropped the release date for “5AM,” and although we’ve seen a re-occuring theme of staying up until the early morning hours in some of their music, Pecos admits he’s not as much of a night owl as he used to be.
“I stay up decently late sometimes but I don’t really get absolutely trashed anymore. If you want to make this career last a long time, you have to get rest and you have to take a little bit better care of yourself than what I was doing.”
While there aren’t any mentions of being up all night, “Last Thing I Remember,” written by Pecos, as well as Kalen Davis, Andrew Baylis and Michael Whitworth, continues some of the “self-reflection” process in a relationship, “How many nights can I hit rock bottom until I realize I might be the problem?”
“‘Last Thing I Remember’ is a song about someone who regrets being the person they are, but he isn’t able to change to be the person that his significant other needs,” Pecos Hurley says of the track. “He knows he is most likely the problem. Although she keeps getting hurt and leaving, she still has hope that he’ll be able to change and he is hopeful that every time she leaves that she will come back again.“
