Pecos & The Rooftops Release Live Acoustic Performance Video For “She Says”

It’s been a quietly big year for the Texas country-rock band.

Back in June, Pecos & The Rooftops released their debut, 16-track, self-titled studio album after signing with Warner Records earlier in the year on January 19th.

Prior to their first major-label record, the only multi-track project the band released was their 2020 EP, “Red Eye,” (which I still jam to religiously).

With the help of their incredibly massive single, “This Damn Song,” (which has now amassed over 156 million streams on Spotify alone), the band inked their deal with Warner and shared the news to their Instagram account with frontman Pecos Hurley having this to say:

“Thank y’all for believing in what we do and allowing us to chase our dream. It was a special day that I’ll never forget. This is going to be a huge year and I can’t thank y’all enough for being a part of this ride.”

While Pecos and the boys have had a break-out year, I chose to use the word “quietly” in the monologue because not only have they remained limited in their social media posting, but this is the first time they’ve posted any sort of live performance video to their Youtube account since their album dropped. In fact, it’s been 11 months since the band last shared an acoustic performance for “Hurt No More.”

With that said, the wait is finally over, as the band has officially dropped an acoustic performance of “She Says,” directed by Trenton Johnson and shot at The Bolt Studio in Fort Worth, Texas.

Written by Canaan Bryce and Pecos Hurley, the track could be viewed as a post break-up song at first listen. However, it seems the story is about a person in an unhealthy relationship who’s mentally exhausted and weighed down by the confusion in their own mind.

Wile the original version is more of a rockin’ mid-tempo track, the lyrics also fit perfectly in a more somber acoustic setting.
