Wyatt Flores recently stopped through Nacogdoches, Texas, where he performed for a sold-out crowd at the Banita Creek Hall alongside Coleman Jennings.
If you’ve been fortunate enough to see the “Please Don’t Go” singer live in concert, there’s a good chance you might’ve seen (or heard) him cover “Alabama” by Cross Canadian Ragweed. You know, the Ragweed that broke up 14 years ago with lead singer Cody Canada vowing to “never” reunite with the band just 7 seven months ago…
Well, a lot can change in seven months. And just three days after Wyatt’s performance on the 13th, Cross Canadian Ragweed teased a possible reunion when they reactivated their website and uploaded a photo to their Facebook page for the first time in THIRTEEN years.
With Wyatt and a handful of other artists covering the Oklahoma band over the years, as well as Koe Wetzel’s popular song, “Ragweed,” introducing the group to newer, younger fans, it was only a matter of time before we saw a reunion – at least we hoped.
The years dragged on and frontman Cody Canada had found success with his new band, The Departed, making the chances of a Ragweed reunion seem grim. And while we don’t exactly know what the guys are cookin’ up at the moment, the good news is we know SOMETHING is coming.
Wyatt is expected to release his highly-anticipated, debut album, “Welcome To The Plains,” on October 18th. Check out his performance of “Alabama” here:
