It’s here and it didn’t disappoint.
As promised, Zach Bryan officially dropped the music video today for his song, “Nine Ball,” the opening track on his recent 5-track EP, “Boys of Faith.”
Zach first teased photos from the set to his Instagram three weeks ago, confirming that he was teaming up with one of his “heroes,” Matthew McConaughey.
“Thank you for being so kind and open-hearted these past few days @officiallymcconaughey; for all the advice and believing in something I cared enough to write about,
you’ll always have a friend in me and for once it was an honor to meet a hero.”
The music video depicts McConaughey as the drunk, deadbeat dad with a gambling problem Zach sings about in the song.
Although the 12 year-old boy (played by Tye Sheridan) would rather be doing things that well, 12 year-old boys do, such as being taken fishing or playing football, he’s cheated out of a real childhood and stuck covering his dad’s ass, which still seemingly leads to a weird father-and-son bonding experience.
Most Zach Bryan music videos grab your attention and refuse to let it go, this one’s no different. Check it out here:
