With the release of their sixth studio album, Change of Plans, this past May 15, 49 Winchester celebrated the drop with an intimate performance of three tracks recorded at Lucinda’s in New York City.
The Virginia band took over the big city honky tonk joint, which famously offers the southern hospitality of a country bar right in the heart of East Village. Partnering with Hiatus Tequila for this “No Depression Session,” previously filmed on April 29 and released on May 15, it was only fitting that the group performed one of their biggest hits to date, “Everlasting Lover.”
The 2020 track from their album, III, has since become their third most-streamed song with over 47 million streams alone on Spotify, sitting just behind “Russell County Line” and “Annabel.” The track also just so happens to sound exceptionally great from this dive bar setting, with lead singer Isaac Gibson’s vocals never failing to deliver alongside the song’s signature whining steel guitar.
Saving the best moment for last, Gibson finishes the performance, hitting the final drawn-out note almost identically to the recorded version that scratches the brain just right every time. During the partnership video, the band also highlighted their second latest single, “Slowly,” along with one of the album’s favorites, “Bluebird.”
Continuing to celebrate this exciting year as they further cement their Appalachian country rock sound as a genre staple, 49 Winchester will return to their 2026 summer tour on May 29 in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, for a string of solo dates. They’ll also join Tim McGraw in early July for his 2026 Pawn Shop Guitar Tour, as well as two supporting dates alongside Eric Church as he returns for two shows at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre and Lake Tahoe.
