Luke Combs and Vince Gill sharing the 2023 CMA Fest stage in front of 90,000 country music fans is a recipe for an electrifying performance.
The staple 90’s singer/songwriter and current country superstar joined forces last summer for an incredible rendition of Gill’s 1993 no. 1 hit, “One More Last Chance“.
Upon its release, the tune topped the U.S. country charts, becoming his third of seven career number one hits. Co-written with Gary Nicholson, it appeared on Gill’s 5x platinum, career defining album, “I Still Believe In You.“
Luke Combs has been very forward about his admiration for Vince Gill, posting various covers his songs and telling stories of their friendship. He even appeared on Gill’s “CMT Giants” event, honoring the achievements of the country legend.
Its obvious the 66-year old’s signature guitar skills and voice haven’t been lost with the years, as he delivers an amazing performance. Combs’ powerful, twangy vocals add an incredible twist to the original version of the tune without taking away any of its magic.
On top of everything, it’s exciting to see one of the most respected artists in the history of country music come together with one of the biggest modern names in the genre and give a football-stadium-packed crowd a night to remember.
