From the moment it was teased back in March, everyone knew that Post Malone and Morgan Wallen had a hit on their hands with “I Had Some Help.” Since its official release on May 10, the song has been an absolute smash, racking up over 270 million streams on Spotify alone and just recently clinching its fifth straight week at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Despite his seemingly never-ending schedule, playing at the ACM Awards, CMA Fest and Bonnaroo over the past month, Post decided to make another Nashville appearance. Last night, he played at the iconic Bluebird Cafe which is one of the premier spots for songwriters in the city, helping artists such as Taylor Swift, Vince Gill, Dierks Bentley and Keith Urban get their start in the genre.
Post was not alone during this performance, however. Reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year, Lainey Wilson also made an appearance, performing “I Had Some Help” with the “Circles” singer. What resulted was an extremely intimate, sing-along between the Post, Wilson and the crowd, and it further proves just how committed to this country music endeavor Post truly is.
Despite there being no official release date for his album, it seems as if it’s coming any day now. Between the collaboration with Blake Shelton, “Pour Me A Drink,” coming out this Friday, June 21st, and the album’s title being rumored as F-1,000,000,000,000 after merch was leaked at his Bonnaroo performance, I’d expect an album announcement any day now.
