The wait is over… Today, Jake Owen announced that he’s dropping his first album in over four years, titled “Loose Cannon.” Along with the album announcement, Jake also took to Instagram to post a teaser of him singing the title track, written by Matt Roy, and announced he’s got four new songs dropping THIS Friday. When referring to the title track, Jake says: “I’ve never met the guy who wrote this song, feel like we’re living the same life though,” he then continues to say “I thought it was the perfect song to title the album after.” Jake released “My…

Undisputed goat. Today, Alan Jackson officially received 8 new platinum certifications from the RIAA for 7 singles and one album. His iconic and most popular song to date, which just turned 30 years old last week, “Chattahoochee,” is now 3X platinum, as well as his duet with Jimmy Buffett, “It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere.” My personal favorite Alan song, “Drive,” as well as “Little Bitty,” “Good Time,” and “Gone Country” all achieved platinum status, meaning they’ve sold one million units since their release. How these songs are just now going platinum is seriously beyond me. “Remember When,” Jackson’s most iconic love…

Today, Conner Smith teased a brand new song “How It Looks From Here,” and announced the mid-tempo, break-up song will officially be out this Friday, May 26th. From the 30-second teaser posted to social media, this already sounds like it could be my favorite Conner Smith release to date, since, well…his last release “Creek Will Rise” back in February, written by Smith, along with Chase McGill and Parker Welling. Today, Jason Aldean officially released his brand new single, “Try That In A Small Town.” Unlike some of his other small town anthems, such as “They Don’t Know” and “Tattoos On This Town,” this one seems to be about taking issue with what is happening in the world and how none of it would fly in places like that. Jason called into The Bobby Bones Show this morning to discuss how he felt the first time he heard the demo and why he decided to cut it: “I heard this song and it just kind of explained to me what’s…

Where in the heck does the time go? As of today, May 17th, 2023, Alan Jackson’s legendary song, “Chattahoochee,” was officially released as a single 30 years ago. THIRTY frickin’ years. Co-written by Jackson and Jim McBride, “Chattahoochee” was released from Alan’s 1992 album, “A Lot About Living’ (And a Little ’bout Love)”. Label executive, Gary Overton, is on the record saying no one, absolutely no one, “wanted to put that out but Alan.” The song not only was different than anything else he had released prior, everyone questioned what the heck a “Chattahoochee” was, even Waylon Jennings. “I think…
