History.
Less than two weeks after scoring his first-ever billion-stream song on Spotify with “When It Rains It Pours,” Luke Combs has made history with his 2018 #1 hit, “Beautiful Crazy,” also reaching the billion-stream mark today. With this achievement, Combs is now the first country artist in history to possess two separate billion-stream songs on Spotify.
“Beautiful Crazy” becomes the eighth country song overall and the sixth solo track to reach the highly exclusive billion streams mark, joining the likes of Morgan Wallen’s “Last Night,” Chris Stapleton’s “Tennessee Whiskey” and Zach Bryan’s “Something in the Orange.”
A full list of country songs with a billion streams on the platform are as follows:
- “Meant To Be” – Bebe Rexa & Florida Georgia Line (1.44b)
- “Something in the Orange” – Zach Bryan (1.19b)
- “Last Night” – Morgan Wallen (1.18b)
- “Tennessee Whiskey” – Chris Stapleton (1.14b)
- “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” – Shaboozey (1.12b)
- “10,000 Hours” – Dan + Shay & Justin Bieber (1.12b)
- “When It Rains It Pours” – Luke Combs (1.009b)
- “Beautiful Crazy” – Luke Combs (1b)
Diving into the numbers, “Beautiful Crazy” has averaged a staggering 406,008 streams per day since its release on June 1, 2018 and has netted approximately $3-5 million in gross revenue off of Spotify alone using the platform’s alleged $.003-.005 per stream payout.
Though Combs has become the first-ever country artist to reach this milestone, he won’t be the only artist to share this accomplishment. Both Wallen and Bryan will tie the “Beer Never Broke My Heart” singer in the coming months with Bryan’s “I Remember Everything” and Wallen’s “Whiskey Glasses,” as well as his feature on Post Malone’s “I Had Some Help” rapidly approaching the one-billion stream mark.
