Football is SO back.
It was officially announced this morning that Chris Stapleton, Snoop Dogg and Cindy Blackman Santana have officially teamed up for the new Monday Night Football anthem on ESPN.
Premiering tonight, the trio collaborated for a new rendition of the iconic Phil Collins song, “In The Air Tonight.”
“We just wanted to make sure we heard everybody’s voices, whether it was the fans voices, whether it was the artists voices, whether it was staying true to the ‘Monday Night Football’ brand over the years…we just wanted to make sure we meshed all that together. It could be a challenge, but we think we hit the sweet spot.” -video producer, Rico Labbe.
Rolling Stone named “In the Air Tonight” one of greatest songs of all-time and has often been cited as a song that players use to get their minds right and free of distraction before the big game.
With top-notch announcers in Joe Buck and Troy Aikman, Monday night football just got even better.
On top of that, there’s a double-header tonight, featuring the division rivals, Browns vs. the Steelers, and the Saints take on the Panthers.
