More than 40 years after Dolly Parton first dreamed up the idea, her Cup of Ambition coffee line is officially available nationwide…
The late country music icon’s coffee brand, created in partnership with family-owned Community Coffee, officially launched nationwide on September 29 following its initial debut at Dolly’s Tennessean Travel Stop. The name, of course, comes straight from one of the most recognizable lines in Parton’s 1980 classic, “9 to 5.”
Back in June, Dolly revealed that turning “Cup of Ambition” into an actual coffee brand had been something she had wanted to do for more than four decades:
“I thought the Cup of Ambition would be a fantastic name for a coffee brand, and I’ve been working towards this for over 40 years… This is just one of those dreams that’s taken a little longer than I thought it might, but we’ve got it and it’s working.”
The collection includes Light, Medium and Dark Roast varieties, with ground coffee available now and K-Cup pods available for pre-order. The coffee can be purchased through CupOfAmbition.com, CommunityCoffee.com and major online retailers including Amazon and Walmart.
Along with the nationwide launch came something particularly special for Dolly fans: a brand-new commercial filmed by Parton earlier this year. She filmed three commercials for Cup of Ambition prior to her death, with the first released this morning as part of the brand’s fall advertising campaign.
The launch is also giving back to a cause incredibly close to Dolly’s heart. Every cup sold helps support Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, the literacy program she founded to provide free books to children from birth to age five.
To celebrate the launch, Cup of Ambition and Community Coffee are also sending the Dolly Coffee Trolley across the Southeast for a special popup Sip & Sample Tour. Kickin’ off today in Nashville with stops at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, Vanderbilt University, Belmont University, the Grand Ole Opry and more, folks can come grab fresh coffee until 5pm CT.
For something Dolly had apparently been dreaming about for more than 40 years, it’s pretty cool that fans will now get the chance to pour themselves a literal “cup of ambition” every morning. Get some here.
