Rising to the top of the charts as the reigning female voice in country music and beyond, Ella Langley is taking notes from the women before her.

Celebrating the well-received feedback from her recently released album, Dandelion, the Alabama star spoke with Billboard’s Jessica Nicholson to reflect on this cataclysmic time in her career. While the album has only been out for less than a week since its April 10 debut, it has already further solidified Langley as one of the most praised names in country music, with its lead single “Choosin’ Texas” garnering over 273 million streams on Spotify alone and its successor “Be Her” following with 59 million and recently entering the top 10 at No. 8 on the Hot 100.

The remarkable feats of her October 2025 Texas love triangle anthem, co-written by Miranda Lambert, earned Langley the title of the newest record breaker for most weeks spent at the top of the all-genre chart, beating out Taylor Swift with her new reigning six-week streak. It also makes Langley the first woman to hold two spots at the top for multiple weeks.

During the interview, Langley was asked about her vision of a “powerhouse artist,” and to no surprise, she rattled off a list of iconic female voices. First to her mind was none other than pretty much everyone’s inspiration, Dolly Parton. Highlighting her as a triple threat, Langley noted, “She acts, sings, and every day she leaves the house looking incredible.” Fitting to her down-to-earth nature, she added, “I aspire to try; I’m in sweats most of the time.”

Langley also shouted out her fellow Dandelion co-producer and mentor, Miranda Lambert, along with legends, Reba McEntire, Jo Dee Messina, Gretchen Wilson, Stevie Nicks, and Joan Jett. “What I’m drawn to with strong women is their ability to be trailblazers. They’re not afraid to take risks. Just explore your artistry and have fun with it.”

As Langley continues to take notes from the highly successful voices across genres that came before her, she also gives a positive outlook on the current class of females, noting that this is only just the beginning for what’s to come. “There’s so many talented women coming up right now. I’m so excited for what music’s going to look like in the next two to three years. Women are about to take over, I’m telling you that right now.”

Langley will bring some of these blossoming ladies on the road with her on her upcoming Dandelion tour, including Kaitlin Butts, Laci Kaye Booth, and Gabriella Rose. Starting on May 7 in Toledo, OH, she’ll spend the summer touring arenas for her headlining dates, wrapping up on August 15 in Fort Worth, along with joining both Morgan Wallen and Eric Church throughout 2026.
