From a social media sensation to a soon-to-be country star, Emma Zinck is a budding songstress you need to keep on your radar, with a unique sound that is sure to sweep you off your feet.
For those who are unfamiliar, stemming from Fredericksburg, Virginia, Zinck moved to Nashville, Tennessee at the age of 19, instantaneously captivating country music lovers with her “electric country” sound. Covering songs like “Talking To The Moon” by Bruno Mars and “Anti-Hero” by Taylor Swift via TikTok, Zinck has proven her musical prowess with a series of viral videos, ultimately amassing more than 150k social media followers to date.
Nowadays, Zinck is taking her original music more serious than ever before, releasing “Leather Jacket” earlier this year and releasing “Party Song” on Friday (Oct. 11).
Reminiscent of a combination between modern-day Shania Twain and St. Vincent, “Party Song” is said to have a sound unlike anything else in country music. “It’s fun and wacky sound from a fiddle to a bass drop will make anyone want to dance to it. It has a simple meaning at first listen, but the deeper meaning is a sarcastic comeback to the music industry saying ‘you need a party song,'” as exemplified in the music video that accompanies it.
As mentioned, the music video for “Party Song” — directed by Mitch Wallis and Mitch Goudy at M2 Media + Marketing — pays homage to the story behind the tune, beginning with an individual within the country music community telling Zinck that her music is great, however, she needs an uptempo “party song” in order to make it big. As someone who blazes her own trail, she takes the idea of being the perfect pop star and turns it into a song, slamming the industry professional and making her own version of a “party song.”
While rocking a neon blazer with disco ball accessories, more disco balls and party favors arrive as Zinck belts out the twangy tune onstage, going so far to mix up her own version of a “party song” in a cauldron. After the bridge, the music video takes a turn, bringing the industry professional in like a friend to join Zinck in the celebration, coined “Emma’s Way.”
