HARDY and Lainey Wilson took home the first award of the night for their collaboration on HARDY’s “Wait In The Truck.”
“Wait In The Truck,” a modern country murder ballad featured on HARDY’s latest album “The Mocking Bird & The Crow,” secured the win for “Collaborative Video Of The Year” at tonight’s 2023 CMT Awards in Austin. The song is a dark one, shedding light on domestic violence, and the video is equally as heavy but DAMN, is it good.
The award was presented by Stranger Things actor, Noah Schnapp. The duo accepted the honor and gave a quick speech thanking family and fans, while HARDY included mention of when he knew this video would be a success, and reminisced on writing the script for it in just a single day. Of all the nominees in the category for “Collaborative Video Of The Year,” this one was definitely the most deserving, and undoubtedly a well-earned win.
