HARDY Announces He’s Dropping “Gin and Juice” Cover, “With the Blessing of Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg Themselves”

HARDY stunned country music fans all across the globe today (April 18) when he shared a photo alongside rap legends Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, with the trio dressed head to toe in some vintage attire, posing outside of a barn. The announcement that coincided with this Instagram post was exciting as can be, as HARDY announced that he will be dropping a country-fied version of “Gin and Juice” on all music streaming services at 11pm CT.

“I’m still in disbelief, but I am so stoked to announce that I recorded my version of this classic record for the short film Gin and Juice with the blessing of @drdre and @snoopdogg themselves. Thankful for the opportunity. Song drops tonight at 11p CT. Enjoy🍸🧃 @dreandsnoop“

Naturally, this stunned HARDY fans from coast to coast — as well as fellow artists — with individuals taking to the comment section of the post to express their excitement.

“A million dollars and a thousand guesses and I would’ve failed miserably at the question ‘What’s the next song HARDY’s dropping?’ This is gonna be EPIC,” Travis Denning wrote.

Yung Gravy wrote as well, “This made me so happy I accidentally knocked my full whiskey glass on the dude next to me on this flight.”

“Gin and Juice” was originally released in January of 1994 as the second single from Snoop Dogg’s debut album, Doggystyle. Produced by Dr. Dre, the song achieved a great deal of success — even being  nominated for the GRAMMY Award for Best Rap Solo Performance at the 37th Annual GRAMMY Awards — ultimately holding a special place in the hearts of both artists. “With the blessing of Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg themselves,” HARDY is giving the tune a twangy twist in the year 2024.

The “TRUCK BED” singer has clearly been a fan of the song for quite some time, performing a country-fied cover onstage at Encore Beach Club in Las Vegas, Nevada back in February. This is not the first time HARDY has crossed over to a different genre — collaborating with Nickelback for a recent episode of CMT Crossroads, as well as collaborating with ERNEST for a cover of “Creep” by Radiohead — but his version of “Gin and Juice” might just be his boldest endeavor yet. Hitting streaming services tonight, only time will tell…
