HARDY speaks out.
In October of last year, HARDY’s tour bus ran off the road, resulting in significant and life-threatening injuries to all four passengers.
According to a Tennessee Highway Patrol report, the bus was traveling westbound on I-40 near the Wilson and Davidson counties border when it went off the road, overturning on its left side.
HARDY’s photographer, Tanner Gallagher, was a passenger on the bus the night it crashed and later released a statement saying the bus flipped over at nearly 70 mph, leaving everyone unconscious:
“Within what felt like 3 seconds, our bodies were thrown across the room knocking us all unconscious. By the grace of God, we all survived. My injuries included a shattered foot, a punctured lung, 4 broken ribs, and a fractured vertebrae in my neck.”
In October of THIS year, about a year after the incident, HARDY released a statement on Instagram, admitting to struggling with anxiety and panic attacks from the incident, causing him to cancel a couple tour dates.
Now, during a recent interview with SiriusXM, HARDY opened up even more about the anxiety he’s experienced, even adding that he hopes to be a voice for people who are ashamed or afraid to admit that they’re struggling:
“It’s kind of amazing what your body holds on to. Anybody who’s ever dealt with trauma in their life, theirs something about..yeah, it was completely subconscious.
I needed a moment to step away and work on myself and figure some things out, deal with some trauma from that and other things.
Everybody in this room gets jealous, everybody in this room gets happy, they get sad, and it’s completely okay and not embarrassing at all to get anxious.
I feel like this has happened for a reason because I want to be a voice for people who maybe are afraid to admit, or ashamed, that they go through that sh*t because it’s really hard and it’s really hard on you.“
