Big boys are so back.
Last week, PEOPLE released their annual Sexiest Man Alive issue. While naming The Office actor-turned-heartthrob, John Krasinski, their 2024 cover star, the celebrity news magazine decided to switch things up and simultaneously name a “sexiest man” from every age between 20-41 years old.
Country stars such as Warren Zeiders and Hunter Hayes, as well as folk artist, Noah Kahan, rounded out the list for ages 25, 33 and 27, but the most surprising (and head-scratching) of them all just might’ve been who they named the sexiest man for age 34 – none other than country superstar, Luke Combs.
Now, if you’re the type of guy who frequents the Golden Corral buffet after a long hard day of changing oil and rotating tires at the Jiffy Lube, then you should take this as a big win. But if you’re the guy who wakes up at 5a.m. to spend a couple hours in the gym, followed by a breakfast consisting of five hundred and eighty-two scrambled eggs with five scoops of protein powder and a couple creatine gummies to wash e’m down, boy do I got bad news for you…
And while the people (literally) have spoken (or at least Editor at Large, Julie Jordan), Luke is in just as much disbelief as all of us. During a quick interview with People Country on the CMA red carpet, Luke Combs was asked about receiving the honor, and the “Beer Never Broke My Heart” singer had plenty of jokes…
“1990 must’ve been a down year. I thought it was the most cheeseburgers eaten list…and then I went on to see this guy on there, I was like ‘Man, times are tough in 1990 for me to be the hottest guy.’
I got curb appeal…I could walk up, you know: I’m the sexiest 34-year-old man — not in the room, on the globe, apparently.”
