Ingrid Andress Makes First Public Appearance In Seven Months To Re-Sing The National Anthem And The Internet Is Convinced She Was Still Drunk

    Getting another shot.

Back in July of last year, Ingrid Address stood in front of thousands of people at the MLB Home Run Derby in Arlington, Texas, and delivered what can only be described as one of, if not thee, worst National Anthem performances ever seen by a recording artist.

The very next day, she released a statement on social media apologizing to fans and admitted to being intoxicated during the performance. She also announced that she was checking herself into rehab.

Ingrid instantly received a ton of support after admitting that she needed help, most notably from her peers within the country music community. Everyone from Flatland Cavalry, to Carly Pearce, Matt Stell and more, expressed sympathy on social media, with Mitchell Tenpenny commenting “You are a bad*ss and one of the most talented people I know. You got this my friend.”

Fast forward a little over seven months later, and Ingrid officially made her first public appearance tonight since the disastrous performance when she got a re-do to sing the National Anthem at the Colorado Avalanche game.

She immediately posted the video to her Instagram account with the caption “We’re back baby,” and her fans were overwhelmingly ecstatic to finally see her show up on their timeline after all these months. However, it was a totally different story when we posted the video to our Instagram account…

Within an hour, over a hundred comments flooded in with country fans wondering how she could butcher the Anthem a SECOND time. And while Ingrid has had some success in the genre (receiving four grammy nominations and a Nashville Songwriter Award under her belt), it ultimately wasn’t the comeback story she probably hoped for.

Of course, this go-around wasn’t nearly as bad as the original, but given the fact that she was presumably sober, she still somehow managed to sound like she had a few too many vodka cranberries at karaoke night (no shade, we’ve all been there). And about twelve seconds into the video below, you’ll hear her spew out an awkward laugh as the crowd erupts in cheer.

Here are some of the comments:

“How did I actually like a couple of her songs? This sounds like my kids trying to be funny singing.”

“Looks like 7 more months of rehab…”

“I feel like they should start giving the crowd free drinks to have to listen to this”

“Someone breathalyzer her cuz she defo not sober”

“I thought this was the drunk version”

Let it be known, I have absolutely nothing against Ingrid and I truly hope she’s doing better than ever. With that said, the anthem isn’t for everyone – and that’s okay.
