Fresh off of the announcement of his new partnership with the independent label, Virgin Music Group, after his department from MCA/Universal Music Group Nashville, Kip Moore is back with his first release in nearly two years with the rockin’ new track, “Live Here To Work.”

Moore took to Instagram last Friday to announce the song’s release.

“Live Here To Work” marks the first release from Moore since Damn Love, and it’s just about everything you’d want to hear from the “Hey Pretty Girl” singer. Solo-written by the Georgia native, the song includes his patented gravely vocals, some excellent electric guitar work that hits a crescendo on its closing solo and a “Take This Job and Shove It” mentality that harkens back to the 1974 Johnny Paycheck track.

Discussing the track, Moore said, “I think it’s easy as humans to get caught up in the mundaneness of day to day tasks and responsibilities. Everyone’s had that feeling where they’ve hit that limit and you’re just like ‘f*ck that, I have to get off this hamster wheel or my spirit’s gonna die.’ We played it live for the first time at a show a few weeks ago and people lost it. It’s going to be fun to see how others embrace it… or don’t.”

“Live Here To Work” will serve as the first single off of the “Last Shot” singer’s forthcoming sixth studio album which will be produced independently through Virgin Music Group. In an interview with Billboard, he noted how excited he was to produce the record as an independent artist with VMG, “I was excited to make this record as a truly independent artist, but wanted to remain open to partner with a team if and when it made sense. I enjoyed getting to know the Virgin team, and their tenacity, passion and their focus on a global plan made this feel like the next best step.”

Moore is beginning the international leg of The Nomad World Tour today in Christchurch, New Zealand before returning to the United States in November. Upcoming U.S. dates include the following:

    • 11/07 – Columbia, SC @ The Senate
    • 11/08 – Gainesville, FL @ Vivid Music Hall
