Just hours after his good friend, HARDY, dropped a surprise single, QUIT!!, Morgan Wallen took to Instagram to tease a brand new track presumably titled I Guess.
This comes just weeks after Wallen teased another new song which was written by him, Post Malone and Ernest that eventually got deleted due to many negative comments pointing out the overproduction and extremely poppy style of the song.
Some of the negative comments on the aforementioned song included: “Not really feeling this one…,” “Anyone else think this was a joke at first? respectfully” and “First Morgan song I haven’t liked.”
Unlike that track, I Guess is receiving a lot of positive feedback with Instagram users commenting “Back on his usual and we here for it,” “I’m so excited for this” and “Please release asap.”
Fellow star, Parker McCollum, also commented on the post saying, “Release that exactly how it is. So good.”
Ernest also commented simply saying, “I guess,” possibly hinting that he is a co-writer on the track given that he has co-written with Wallen many times before.
It should come as no surprise that the track garnered more positive feedback compared to the previous one. It is much more traditional in nature with nothing more than an acoustic guitar accompanying the lyrics lamenting about how Wallen “guesses that he’s the problem” regarding a broken relationship before twisting the lyrics with the final line saying, “If I’m the problem, you might be the reason.”
Coming off of a record breaking 2023 in which he nearly swept the Billboard Music Awards, winning close to all of the major awards, it seems like everything that the Last Night singer touches (or sings) turns to gold (and platinum if we’re talking records).
With the overwhelmingly positive response to the track, it seems like Wallen has regained the momentum that he has been gaining over his record-breaking 2023 run and is ready for another successful year in 2024.
