Morgan Wallen’s “Last Night” Was The Most Streamed Song of 2023 On Spotify AND Apple Music, All-Genre

    Impressive would be an understatement.

As the year comes to an end, chart publications and the top streaming services have been releasing their year-end performance metrics.

Earlier in the week, it was announced by Billboard that Morgan Wallen had the highest grossing tour in country music by a long shot, bringing in a massive $260 million in revenue across 44 stops. Over 1.3 million people attended a Wallen show in 2023, coming out to an average of over 30,000 per show.

Billboard also recently released their year end chart rankings and Morgan finished with the most entries of any artist on the Top 100 with a total of eight.

Coming in at #1 with “Last Night,” Morgan also had two other singles break the top 20 with “You Proof” ranking at #12, and “Thinkin’ Bout Me” at #19.

This marks the first time a country artist has held the year-end top spot since Kenny Rogers did it back in 1981.

Even though he was snubbed at this year’s CMA’s, Morgan  took home the most awards at the Billboard Music Awards with a whopping 11, just edging out Taylor Swift (10) for most awards of the night.

Wallen took home key awards such as Top Male Artist, Top 100 Artist, Top Streaming Songs Artist and Top Billboard 200 Album.

With the simultaneous Top 100 Artist and Top 200 Album win, it’s the first time one artist has swept both awards in the same year since Usher won in 2004 with Confessions and his smash hit, Yeah!.

And now, on top of ALL of that, Spotify and Apple Music just announced that “Last Night” was the most streamed song, respectively, on both major platforms.

    Spotify's ‘Top Songs: US’:

    1️⃣ Last Night
    2️⃣ Kill Bill
    3️⃣ Flowers
    4️⃣ Ella Baila Sola
    5️⃣ Boy's a liar Pt. 2

    — Pop Crave (@PopCrave) November 29, 2023

Most streamed songs on Apple Music globally in 2023:

    #1 Last Night, Morgan Wallen
    #2 Flowers, Miley Cyrus
    #3 Kill Bill, SZA
    #4 Rich Flex, Drake & 21 Savage
    #5 Snooze, SZA
    #6 Anti-Hero, Taylor Swift
    #7 IDOL, YOASOBI
#8 Under the Influence, Chris Brown
    #9 Creepin', Metro Boomin,…

    — chart data (@chartdata) November 28, 2023

At this point, I’m not sure if Morgan can ever top his 2023 performance. But, I mean, hell, we probably thought that after he released “Dangerous: The Double Album” back in 2021.
