Parker McCollum Takes A Chance On Teenage Fan By Inviting Him On Stage To Perform Duet Of “Killin’ Me” In Alabama: “I Had Absolutely Zero Faith In You, But You Crushed It”

Parker McCollum traded in his stunning female vocalist duet partner, Lee Ann Womack, this past weekend for a young aspiring fan in the crowd at his Alabama show.

The Gold Chain Cowboy took the stage at the Orion Amphitheater in Huntsville last Saturday, August 22, as he continues out on his self-titled 2026 tour. Endearingly, he spotted a teenage boy in the crowd holding up a sign asking if he’d let him sing alongside McCollum on stage for one song.

The 17-year-old Tennessee native, Wyatt Summers, who’s entering his senior year this fall, had the help of his family members in attendance, holding up three posters in the front row saying things along the lines of, “Make it a hell of a senior year, let him play.” Sure enough, McCollum could use a helping hand on the promotional single from his ACM Album of the Year, “Killin’ Me”—which he recently re-recorded and released with Lee Ann Womack this past June— and invited the fan up on stage.

Without any practice, Wyatt hopped up, joining the Texas native and grabbing a white acoustic guitar from one of his bandmates. Admirably, McCollum introduced himself as if he wasn’t an award-winning country star and assured him, “we’re gonna do the song,” with the crowd chanting the teen’s name in the background.

Leading into the track with Wyatt strumming along, McCollum jokingly confirmed: “So far, sounding good,” before letting him take the lead on the second verse and joining in on the chorus. Kudos to the aspiring artist who no doubt had to be nervous as h*ll but stood confidently next to McCollum, who was cheering him on the whole time with a massive grin plastered on his face in admiration.

Nearing the end of the performance, he announced to everyone, “Y’all give a big *ss round of applause for Wyatt.” He, of course, still had to also playfully tease the brave yet timid fan, jokingly stating, “I had absolutely zero faith in you, Wyatt, and you freakin’ crushed it, dude. Well done.”

Wyatt promptly scurried off the stage, rejoining his family in the crowd like he was just any other regular concertgoer for the rest of the show. It seems the confidence-building moment had a lasting impact on him, though, given he’s since erected his own music-focused TikTok account to further build his career.

As for McCollum, he’ll be back on the road next weekend, hitting the stage on Thursday night, September 3, in Bangor, Maine. His year of touring will wrap up later in the month on the 26th in his home state of Texas.
