This might actually draw in some ratings..
Today, the second round of performers were officially announced for this year’s CMA Awards, and for some, they saved the best for last.
Post Malone, who’s been flirting with country music for quite some time, is making not only his CMA Awards debut, but this will be the first time he’s ever performed at any country music awards show.
Malone (whose real name is Austin Richard Post), will be performing alongside Morgan Wallen and HARDY to sing a medley of old country classics, according to the Association.
As most of you are probably already aware, Post Malone has previously covered country songs such as Sturgill Simpson’s “You Can Have The Crown,” and most notably, Brad Paisley’s “I’m Gonna Miss Her,” which Brad himself even reacted to on social media, admitting he thought the rapper sang it better.
Post Malone is also apart of the 2024 lineup for Stagecoach, where he will also be hittin’ the stage to perform a medley of country covers.
The other performers at this year’s CMA Awards include Luke Combs, Jelly Roll, Megan Moroney, Carly Pearce, Cody Johnson, Chris Stapleton, and a tribute to the late Jimmy Buffet from Alan Jackson, Zac Brown Band and Kenny Chesney.

The CMA’s and ACM’s have been notoriously trying to see a boost in ratings over the last few years by adding performances from big names outside of the country genre. It’s typically failed, however, as fans have repeatedly expressed that they simply just want to see real country artists included, or at least performances from the forgotten mainstream acts who have been doing things right for decades.
With that said, Posty seems to be one exception who may be able to snag a few extra viewers from those who may not haver tuned in otherwise. Especially when Wallen is in the mix.
The 57th CMA Awards, hosted by Luke Bryan and Peyton Manning, are set to take place on Wednesday, November 8th.
