After taking the genre by storm in 2024 with the success of “Worst Way” and “Jesus Saves” along with his appearance on Ella Langley’s smash hit, “you look like you love me,” it seems more evident that Riley Green is well on his way to being country’s next superstar.
It looks like he’s trying to keep the momentum going heading into 2025 in the writing room. Minutes ago, Green took to Instagram to share a brand new song, “Make It Rain,” and it sounds like another heartbreak heater from the “Don’t Mind If I Do” singer.
In the caption, Green noted that he had just written the track and joked that anyone who pointed out his Christmas tree is still up (on February 25th mind you) was getting blocked, “Song I just wrote called… ‘Make It Rain’ hope yall like it… also first person to make a smarta*s remark about my Christmas tree still being up is gettin blocked.”
Grappling with his inability to make a good relationship last, Green laments how he can’t do a lot of things in life. One thing he can do, however, is ruin a relationship, noting how he can “make it rain” in the chorus.
“I can make it rain
I can make her tears fall down
Take everything that we used to be
And leave it puddled up on the ground
Yeah, I can make it flood
Watch it wash it all away
Take all our love and pour it down the drain
Yeah, I can make it rain”
As of now, “Make It Rain” has no release date.
