In what can only be described as a monster year for Sam Barber, 2024 will come to a close with another huge career milestone – notching his first-ever entry on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 chart with “Indigo” featuring Avery Anna debuting at #98.
Since releasing on October 31st, “Indigo” has quickly become a viral hit for the young duo with two separate sound clips containing the song on TikTok garnering a staggering 88,200 and 157,900 videos respectively with many using it as a tribute to lost loved ones and partners due to the song’s central premise of loss.
“Indigo” has also been a darling on other corners of the internet for the pair, racking up over 11 million streams on Spotify alone and a combined 1.6 million views on the track’s lyric and live performance videos on YouTube.
As mentioned previously, this Billboard Hot 100 entry comes in the midst of a huge year for Barber which included the release of his debut album, Restless Mind, which dropped on November 1st to great critical reception, as well as his first-ever platinum certification from the RIAA for his breakout hit, “Straight and Narrow,” back in May.
As for Anna, this is also her first career Billboard Hot 100 entry and continues her equally impressive year which included the release of her debut album, Breakup Over Breakfast and the breakout success of her single, “Make It Look Easy.”
