Well, this is certainly one way to make a buck…
If you’ve ever wanted to own a piece of Ella Langley’s early career, and have an extra $1,000 burning a hole in your pocket, you’re apparently in luck.
An eBay seller out of Birmingham, Alabama, has listed what they’re claiming to be Langley’s favorite barstool from the now-shutdown Zydeco, a popular Birmingham music venue where the country star performed before becoming one of the biggest names in the genre.
And the asking price? A casual $995.
The listing features a black, round Jim Beam bar stool with metal legs, along with a photo of Langley performing at the venue. The seller is also accepting offers, so perhaps there’s a little room for negotiation if spending nearly a grand on a used bar stool isn’t exactly in your budget.
Of course, there’s no independent confirmation that this was actually Langley’s favorite stool, or even that it’s the exact one she used. For now, that’s simply the seller’s claim. Still, you’ve got to respect the hustle. And for what it’s worth, they have a almost 300 ratings with 100% positive feedback…
The seller had this to sale in the listing description:
“Ella started playing the club as a regular when it was just her and a guitar, sitting on a stool, playing covers for 3 hours a night… Zydeco would close within weeks of Ella’s final performance there. I was an employee of the club and this is THE stool that Ella and countless other stars sat on for performances. The stool was given to us by Jim Beam and as you can see, is much more comfortable than your average bar stool, which is why Ella loved it, and used it for countless performances.”

Considering how far Langley’s career has come since her early days performing around Alabama, it’s pretty wild to think that even an alleged piece of furniture from those days could potentially fetch four figures. Then again, if somebody actually pays $995 for it, we might all be in the wrong business.
