Now THIS is a cool video to watch.
While casually scrolling on Facebook, I came across this old video of Chris Stapleton performing Lonestar’s classic hit, “Amazed,” from WAY before he became the superstar he is today.
Amazed is one of many Country songs I grew up on and still love to this day. Written by Marv Green, Aimee Mayo and Chris Lindsey, the track was released in March of 1999 as the second single from their third studio album “Lonely Grill.” It went on to spend eight weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Country chart, making the power Ballard their biggest song still to date.
Nowadays, the seasoned Country star could cover almost anyone’s song and put them to shame so it sounds weird to type this, but I’m not sure I’d rather hear anyone other than lead singer Richie McDonald sing this. Still, it’ll shock you to see Chris Stapleton 20 years younger without his signature beard.
Check out the cover video below and whether ya love it or hate it, it was all part of the journey that helped make Stapleton one of the best vocalists in all of music.
