    A performance to remember.

Back in 2006, 3 Doors Down teamed up with country music star, Sara Evans, for a performance of one of the band’s most iconic songs, “Here Without You,” at the JCPenney Jam in Los Angeles.

Here Without You was released in July of 2003 as the third single from 3DD’s sophomore album, “Away From The Sun.” It was written by lead singer, Brad Arnold, as well as Todd Harrell, Chris Henderson and Matt Roberts, and is currently certified double platinum by the RIAA.

In the early 2000’s, 3 Doors Down was one of the biggest bands in the entire world. One of the first CD’s I personally ever owned was their 1999 debut record, “The Better Life,” featuring their most popular song to date, “Kryptonite.” (And I blasted the absolute sh*t out of it).

While the “Superman song” currently has over a massive one billion streams on Spotify alone, Here Without You isn’t far behind, sitting in second place with almost 800 million streams, as well as 966 million views on Youtube.

Sara Evans has had quite the career herself. Selling more than 7 million albums since she first broke on to the scene in 1997, she’s also had five No. 1 songs at country radio. Those include “No Place That Far,” “Born To Fly,” “Suds In The Bucket,” “A Real Fine Place To Start” and “A Little Bit Stronger.”

3 Doors Down just finished opening for Creed on their “Summer Of ’99 Tour,” and I had the pleasure of seeing both bands live for the first time. Let’s just say rock music is more than alive and well in the year 2024.

Although this performance is 19 years old, its still cool to watch artists from two of my favorite genres come together. Plus, Brad and Sara have great chemistry on stage. Check it out, below.

    *UPDATE*

It is with great sadness to write that earlier today (May 7, 2025), 3DD frontman, Brad Arnold, announced he was recently diagnosed with stage 4 clear cell renal cell carcinoma cancer. Although he expressed that he has “no fear,” he still welcomed prayers from the fans.

The band was currently gearing up to go back out on the road for another stint with Creed on The Summer of ’99 Tour, however all shows have been canceled as Brad begins his journey to recovery.
