A performance to remember.
Back in 2006, 3 Doors Down teamed up with country music star, Sara Evans, for a performance of one of the band’s most iconic songs, “Here Without You,” at the JCPenney Jam in Los Angeles.
Here Without You was released in July of 2003 as the third single from their sophomore album, “Away From The Sun.” It was written by lead singer, Brad Arnold, as well as Todd Harrell, Chris Henderson and Matt Roberts, and is currently certified double platinum by the RIAA.
Growing up, 3 Doors Down was one of my favorite bands. One of the first CD’s I ever owned was their 1999 debut record, “The Better Life,” featuring their most popular song to date, “Kryptonite.” (And I blasted the absolute sh*t out of it).
While the “Superman song” has over 800 million streams on Spotify alone, Here Without You isn’t far behind, sitting in second place with almost 620 million streams, as well as 844 million views on Youtube.
Sara Evans has had quite the career herself. Selling more than 7 million albums since she first broke on to the scene in 1997, she’s also had five No. 1 songs at country radio. Those include “No Place That Far,” “Born To Fly,” “Suds In The Bucket,” “A Real Fine Place To Start” and “A Little Bit Stronger.”
3 Doors Down is currently gearing up to hit the road with Creed on their “Summer of ’99 Tour,” kickin’ off in Green Bay on July 17th. You can view those tour dates here.
Although this performance is 18 years old, its still cool to watch artists from two of my favorite genres come together. Plus, Brad and Sara have great chemistry on stage. Check it out, below.
