While spending my Saturday afternoon attempting to expeditiously cure my hangover with a 10 piece nugget meal from McDonalds and endless scrolling on the addictive social media platform that is TikTok, I may have discovered one of the greatest cover renditions of all time.
If you’re a fan of mid-2000’s “emo” rock, a sound that artists such as Kody West still do well today (if you know, you know), and a lover of a Nickelback (who isn’t), then you are in for a real treat.
A TikTok user, who goes by the name of Top Tier Sh*t Beer, has recently been gaining attention on the social media platform for putting a “midwestern emo” spin on the 2001 Nickelback classic, “How You Remind Me.” Although his videos haven’t seen massive success yet, I was fortunate enough to be blessed by the God’s who created the TikTok algorithm to have it pop up on my For You Page, so now I’m returning the favor with the selfish intention of having Mr. Sh* Beer blow up to release this version on all streaming platforms for my daily consumption asap.
